Rafting

Rafting derives from the English word „raft“, and has become popular in Middle Europe by the middle of the 1980´s. At this water sport an inflatable boat is navigated through different levels of white water.

Due to the nowadays rather highly developed safety measures, rafting has become a relatively safe leisure activity.  Depending on the target area, public institutions impose relatively harsh security regulations to providers: this may range from an obligation of examination for entrepreneurs and boatmen, over regular approvals of the boats, up to clear rules for the equipment that has to be carried with on the boat.
