Dancing

camp ROYAL X Tanzen

Dancing has various functions in society, but also may have end in itself or be done as pastime.

Ritualised dancing expresses togetherness and may be a festive initiation rite e.g.: young girls being introduced into society at a debutante ball. In religious dancing rituals gods are worshipped and their help is requested and evil spirits are driven out.

As a sport, dancing serves as physical training and supports the muscle build-up, motor activity, coordination and the sense of balance. The successful learning, planning and converting complex movements builds up self-confidence and supports a healthy attitude towards the own body. Competitive ballroom dance can prove superiority towards others and personal ambition can be fed.

As an art form dancing is used to depict feelings and actions. Mimics, gestures and whole-body dancing movements together with music form the challenging working material of artful dancing, which shows the elegance and expressiveness of the human body.

In our hall of mirrors with fantastic stereo equipment you may learn everything from classical dance up to hip hop.
